HERITAGE & CONSERVATION DOORS
Entrance doors for conservation projects
On conservation projects entrance doors have the vital role of creating the right first impression, matching the architectural design of the property. At Salisbury Joinery we have nearly 50 years’ experience of crafting bespoke timber doors for period homes and listed buildings. Our focus is on quality and attention to detail to ensure the perfect solution for any character property.
Depending on your project goals, type of property and consents for planning approval, we offer two main options:
- Conservation Doors –
Suitable for period properties, homes in Conservation areas and new build homes in a traditional style. Our Conservation doors come with slimline double-glazing, along with fanlights and sidelights where desired.
-
Heritage Doors – Our Heritage doors are the perfect solution for listed buildings and properties with planning constraints. Crafted to closely replicate the design of original joinery, doors come with single glazing and solid glazing bars.
Conservation Doors
Our Conservation doors are available in any traditional solid, fully glazed or part glazed design with 14mm (4-6-4mm) or 12mm (4-4-4mm) slimline double glazing offering improved energy efficiency. Popular designs include 3, 4, 5 and 6 panelled doors, either as a single or double entrance door.
Glazing bars in our Conservation range are face-applied, however, if a truly traditional appearance is required our Conservation+ doors come with solid glazing bars.
Heritage Doors
Designed for properties where a truly authentic appearance is required, our bespoke heritage doors can be tailored to match any architectural era, from Georgian to Victorian to Arts & Crafts. Doors come with single glazing and solid glazing bars in any configuration. Individual tailoring includes choice of panel size, moulding and antique style ironmongery.
Design & finishing options
Our doors and frames are available in many traditional designs with bespoke flat or raised and fielded panels, and a choice of beading style. We typically craft doors from quality hardwoods such as Oak or Sapele, but for the ultimate in performance and longevity also offer Accoya. Your door can be framed with a beautiful fanlight or sidelights drawing natural light into the property. Our inhouse paint shop provide the facility to finish your door in any RAL colour. Dual colour (internal / external) is also available at an additional cost.
No door would be complete without its ironmongery and we offer a wide range of antique style handles, knobs and door furniture in many finishes including antique brass, aged bronze or matt bronze.

What is a conservation or heritage door?
A conservation or heritage door is designed to replicate the appearance and functionality of original doors found on period homes. They are usually made from timber and come in a variety of designs, including 3, 4, 5 and 6 panel.
As Conservation and Heritage door manufacturers we meticulously study and replicate the proportions of classic designs, ensuring they are in harmony with the architectural style of the property.
Our doors combine traditional aesthetics with modern materials and construction techniques, resulting in durable, energy-efficient windows that last for generations.
