Timber casement windows remain one of the most popular types of window in the UK today and over the last 40 years Salisbury Joinery has built up considerable expertise in their design and manufacture. Today our casement window range consists of two main types:
Windows can be manufactured to a wide range of bespoke designs and made to measure sizes to suit different properties. Options include circular, curved head or swept head details, along with bespoke glazing bars and lead patterns. The different types we manufacture include:
Our conservation flush casement windows are ideally suited to traditional homes or properties in conservation areas or new developments where a traditional look is required. Featuring puttied in slimline 4-6-4 low energy krypton gas filled double glazed units, these windows combine period style looks with much improved thermal and acoustic performance.
From an external view the windows look single glazed and when tailored with period style glazing bars and ironmongery, will complement their settings perfectly.
Our beautiful heritage casement windows are designed as replacement windows for listed properties or homes in conservation areas, typically protected by planning constraints.
Featuring slender frame profiles and puttied in single glass panes, the casements are tailored to closely match the character and design of original joinery. Internal ovolo or lambs’ tongue mouldings, full glazing bars and external putty bead deliver an authentic appearance matched to the properties original design.
Our high-performance windows are manufactured to Part Q Building Regulations and meet the requirements of PAS24 security standards, making them suitable for new residential buildings or buildings being converted into residential use. The windows feature reinforced casements, espagnolette locks and glazing to deter break in.
Our standard 24mm double glazing offers excellent energy efficiency and weather performance characteristics with U values as low as 1.1, along with improved sound insulation.
A range of timbers can be used to construct windows. We recommend hardwoods such as Sapele, Oak or Accoya for use with external casement windows as they offer a more resilient long-term solution, helping reduce maintenance requirements.
Windows are factory finished and supplied either primed or fully finished in a vast range of colours including any RAL colour. The quality finish provides stunning looks and maximum protection from the elements. Our water based microporous paint is environmentally friendly and allows the timber to flex and breathe naturally.
We offer a range of elegant fasteners and decorative stays in many finishes to give windows a modern or period touch. Many designs can be viewed on our website. Part Q windows are supplied with reinforced espagnolette locks for enhanced security.
Our casement windows are covered by a robust 5-year warranty that covers the frame, casement, glazing and ironmongery. All windows are CE marked and conform to British Standards. Additionally Salisbury Joinery holds the Silver CMS mark which ensures quality standards.
