Salisbury Joinery partnered with renowned local developers to support the construction of three new traditionally designed cottages in a conservation area.

The properties are situated in the heart of the village of Vernham Dean within the sought after Bourne Valley, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, benefiting from excellent walking, riding and cycling opportunities in the surrounding countryside.

Each property provides light and airy accommodation extending to over 1,500sq ft, featuring a brick and flint facade beneath an undulated clay tile roof which effectively imitates other period properties in the area which were once thatched. The cottages have been sympathetically designed to replicate the architectural style and character of properties in the local area. Collectively they form a highly attractive new terrace.

Salisbury Joinery was pleased to supply the traditional flush casement windows, doors and staircases for this project. The windows were supplied in a number of sizes and feature 58mm thick casements with face applied glazing bars and a lamb's tongue internal mould. The 4-16-4 soft argon filled double glazing provides much improved energy insulation and the units were supplied fully paint finished with bulb-end ironmongery ensuring traditional appearance.

Staircases were supplied from our Wilton staircase range with a softwood construction, ideal for carpeted stairs. The lacquered hardwood handrail contrasts beautifully with the painted newel posts and balusters to delightful effect. Salisbury Joinery also supplied a range of bespoke cottage style doors including panelled solid wooden front doors. In addition, single panel glazed doors were manufactured for glass screens to the rear elevation of each property and provide superb countryside views.
