OPEN FARMHOUSE & HOSPITALITY VENUE

Sash windows, Casement Windows, Doors, Staircases

Newbury-Farm-Resturant
A farm in an area of outstanding beauty was redeveloped into a delightful venue serving the local community, with the help of finely crafted windows and doors from Salisbury Joinery.

Set on the edge of the picturesque Wessex Downs in the North Hampshire countryside, the characterful new building consists of a restaurant, bakery, gift shop, plant nursery, educational space and dwelling for agricultural workers. In addition, agricultural barns were refurbished and grounds beautifully landscaped featuring an orchard and wildflower meadows.

Commercial Farm House

Working with experienced contractors and architects, we expertly crafted timber windows and doors for the farm house from our Conservation range.

Box sash windows were manufactured in Oak with traditional weights and cords operation. They feature sash horns, slimline 4-6-4mm double glazing with glazing bars to a classic design and a clear lacquer finish which maximizes the natural appeal of the timber. The windows were supplied in a range of sizes and complemented with aged brass ironmongery from our Newbury range. Three of the windows adjoining the main entrance feature characterful curved glazing bars hand-crafted in a traditional style.

Flush casement windows were manufactured for other locations on the property and feature the same lacquer finish, slimline double-glazing with leaded glazing bars, brown trickle vents and aged brass ironmongery. These were supplied as single, double and triple casements including a set of fourteen for the first floor. Two additional oval shaped fixed feature windows were supplied adding further character.

Entrance Doors were also crafted for the farm house. Finished in black these consisted of two boarded doors and one part-glazed door with slimline glazing and raised and fielded panels.

Bespoke Staircase - A staircase was also manufactured with cut hardwood strings and oak treads and risers for the property.

Dwelling and Barns

An additional eleven flush casement windows to the same specification were supplied for the dwelling in a range of sizes, along with a staircase in softwood with cut and mitred outer string.

For the livestock barn, we supplied hinged barn doors in hardwood along with boarded FLB type entrance doors in a black finish.

We are delighted to have supported this project with a full package of finely finished joinery, adding quality and style to this superb property.
